Extraordinary is actually palmetto state armory the word for the congress we were involved at Ephesus in Turkey last week. It was absolutely no special. It's actually not wrong to call it historic. With over 520 expectant delegates from 34 countries became more than what we had expected or asked for.
Self went Birgitta and I downloaded earlier and spent a whole day with the teaching of our respective center leaders from Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, India and Scandinavia. palmetto state armory
The day after delegates poured in and we exchanged during four packed days of teaching, workshops, committees, tours and meetings. It really palmetto state armory became a hit. Not least, the Community was absolutely amazing.
This is the congregations we have had close contact with for many years. Center leaders we have worked for about 20 years. It was not primarily a Congress where we wanted to include palmetto state armory as many as possible without a more suitable range for the whole more centralized and homogeneous for what we wanted to do.
Besides the lovely community and the joy of recognition so it was quite a lot of work. In its various committees discussed mission and how each of the various fields of challenges, ecumenical sensitivity and deeper communion with the Body of Christ, fundamental beliefs, ethical standards, structures and the need for revision, etc.
The result was that the different associations and unions that already exist in the different countries came together in a Word of Life International, headquartered in Uppsala, now proclaimed out. It all received with great joy by the delegates. The most common comment was that: "We have been waiting for a long time." It really felt like the family was gathered.
This enables us to streamline the work of the different field, to reach a deeper communion, to have better synchronization and common action, to resolve problems and conflicts in a better way, to develop education and training, etc. It creates more security and clearer lines for the individual pastors and the different centers.
In the afternoon we made excursions to ancient Ephesus, and it was a real highlight. Not least to anchor our faith in the fact that the two apostles, Paul and John, were the founding and building of the powerful church that grew out här.En parish palmetto state armory Timothy later served. We visited the very city center. palmetto state armory It is so impressive with its amphitheater and its excavations, its streets and libraries, etc. We went into the ruins of the church was the church where the Third Ecumenical Council was held 431 AD. We visited the house where it is believed that Jesus' mother Mary lived. She followed probably by the Apostle John to Ephesus after leaving Jerusalem. All this created such a strong historical roots of the delegates. We are not just a part of something that feels great today. We are familiar with something even bigger that has been here for 2000 years. Many calls were moving on this and it was wonderful with this loving and united community that bodes very well for the future.
We finished the Congress with a communion service which was absolutely amazing palmetto state armory and marked by an unusual presence of God. We used the ritual we use the Word of Life in Uppsala and it was apparent the delegates who came forward to receive the Lord's body and blood. Many had not experienced palmetto state armory a communion service in this way before, and it felt as if those days really palmetto state armory took us back to Acts. 2:42 where the disciples continued faithful to the apostles' teaching, in community, in the breaking of bread and the prayers.
It felt like something new had really happened, which is an important new step and join forces palmetto state armory for the future. The next congress will meet in 2 years. We do not know where yet, then we expect a lot more pastors next time.
