High School football All American games come to a close Sunday uscis case status night in California, with the Semper Fi Bowl. Friday, Casady’s Josh Wariboko and Jalin Barnett uscis case status played in the Under Armour game in Tampa Bay. Saturday, no Oklahomans played in the Army game in San Antonio. Three Oklahomans will participate in the Semper Fi game on Sunday night. Jenks defensive tackle Marquise Overton, Midwest City safety Will Sunderland and Norman North quarterback John Kolar. Four Oklahomans were selected to last year’s Semper Fi game. Booker T Washington’s Jordan Brailford, Douglass’ Deondre Clark, Jenks’ Steven Parker uscis case status and Union’s Carson Meier. All three Oklahomans are on the West squad this year. OKG will be live tweeting during the Semper uscis case status Fi game, if you haven’t followed already, you can follow OKG on twitter @OKGridiron
Last year, Brailford was a standout at Booker T Washington. He had been committed to Oklahoma State well before he went to California. After the Semper Fi game, Brailford got recognized as being one of the top performers. Because of that, his recruitment heated up and his evaluation uscis case status as a prospect improved. Who could be this year’s Jordan Brailford? Kolar has the reputation of being a big time QB prospect already. Sunderland showed out at several camps before his senior uscis case status year, even getting an invitation to The Opening in Oregon. OKG is looking to another Oklahoma defensive linemen to show out again. Marquise Overton has the potential to break out Sunday night and skyrocket up the national prospect rankings list. Overton was dominant in his career at Jenks. He didn’t have to go to camp settings to show how explosive he was for his size. Overton will go up against some of the best offensive linemen in the county Sunday, he could have a big night against some of the country’s best.
Norman North has a quarterback in an All American game for the second consecutive year. Last year it was Alabama’s David Cornwell in the Under Armour All American game, he had to sit out due to a knee injury. This year it’s John Kolar on the west coast in the Semper Fi game. Kolar and Norman uscis case status North had a disappointing 2014 season. The Timberwolves missed out on the playoffs, and Kolar struggled at times. He finished the season passing for nearly 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns. uscis case status However, he also threw 12 interceptions. Kolar is on a roster with two other quarterbacks. Sheriron Jones, who is a top rated dual-threat quarterback prospect. Jones decommitted from Florida in early December. The other is a pocket passer prospect currently committed to Michigan State, Brian Lewerke. At the time of this post, it’s not clear who will get the start or what order they’ll rotate the three quarterbacks in. Because it’s an all star game, it’s going to be difficult for Kolar to get into a rhythm of a normal game setting. It’ll be important for him to shine when he gets those chances.
Midwest City standout Will Sunderland had the attention of many people before he landed in California. Sunderland participated in the nation’s marquee camp back in the summer when he traveled up to Oregon to participate and compete in The Opening. Sunderland is one of the top prospects in the Oklahoma uscis case status class and compares to Steven Parker of Jenks last year, who went on to play in the Semper Fi game, and signed with Oklahoma. Sunderland is currently committed to Oklahoma. Sunderland has already made noise in California during the practice sessions. 24/7 Sports had a report on day 3 of practices uscis case status and mentioned Sunderland. “It was apparent players were itching to hit someone other than their teammate, as evidenced by Oklahoma safety commit Will Sunderland Jr. leaving his feet to lay out the ball carrier midway through uscis case status practice.” Sunderland has a chance to really shine Sunday night. He won’t uscis case status be breaking out like Brailford did last year, because he’s uscis case status already known. He can add onto his legacy as a head hunter and a smart football player with a strong performance in Cali.
